The 10km Open Water Challenge

The Swim Éire Method, developed through the endurance swims of Daragh Morgan around the coastline of Ireland, is designed to change that. In just 8 weeks, you will develop the technique, confidence, and endurance required to complete a 10km open water swim and earn your place as a Swim Éire Finisher.

Why?

The problem is inefficient technique.

If your stroke wastes energy, distance becomes exhausting.

The Swim Éire Method fixes that first.

This approach was developed through years of endurance swimming and helped Daragh Morgan complete a 1,000-mile swim around the coastline of Ireland in 5 months and 17 days.

The method is simple:

  1. Master efficiency in the pool

  2. Adapt those skills to open water

  3. Complete the final challenge

Module 1 — Pool Mastery

Before distance comes efficiency.

In this module we rebuild your stroke from the ground up so you can swim further with less effort.

We focus on:

• Stroke mechanics
• Body position and float work
• Pull buoy drills
• Paddle work for strength and feel of the water

Graduation Test

A timed 2km pool swim.

This ensures every swimmer has the technique and base endurance needed for the next stage.

Module 2 — Open Water Adaptation

The ocean is unpredictable.

Swimming in it requires different skills.

In this module you will learn how to stay calm, efficient, and in control in open water.

You will develop:

• Sighting techniques
• Bilateral breathing
• Swimming in swell and chop
• Open water confidence

Graduation Test

A 10km open water swim.

Only swimmers who complete the program will take part in this final challenge.

The Goal

The goal is simple:

Swim 10km in open water.

Those who complete the swim will become Swim Éire Finishers.
